Leia Duncan grew up between England and the island of Cyprus, experiences that shaped her global perspective from an early age. She began her professional career teaching secondary education in Europe before transitioning to higher education in the United States in 2009. Leia now serves as the Program Director for Baylor University’s global-themed living-learning community within the Department of Modern Languages & Cultures, and she also teaches in the Philanthropy and Public Service program. Her experiences moving between cities and countries, along with her work with students from across the nation and around the world, have fostered in her a deep passion for community, belonging, and the power of personal stories.

Dr. Kevin Villegas serves as the Dean of Intercultural Engagement and Division Initiatives. In his role, he’s responsible for leading a comprehensive approach to empower all students and the Division of Student Life in the creation of a more vibrant, inclusive, and supportive campus environment as an expression of Baylor’s mission. He has more than two decades of demonstrated leadership experience in a variety of roles within higher- and secondary-education settings. Beyond the field of education, Dr. Villegas also worked in the entertainment industry in Hollywood and in pastoral ministry. A native of New York City, Dr. Villegas is a decorated veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served on active duty for four years before going on to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from Messiah University, his Master of Arts degree in Christian Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary, and his Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Gwynedd Mercy University.
