We’re painting the world purple, one young person at a time! With over 3,700 facilitators trained, story exchanges in hundreds of cities worldwide, three impactful leadership summits, and one extraordinary anniversary celebration, our 10th year was truly impactful and memorable!
The N4 Sakhuwelwano Community Center celebrated its 3rd anniversary this month! This Center is home to Narrative 4’s flagship civic engagement project and serves over 200 people weekly through its various programs! The community celebrated with an event that included team member awards, performances by local artists from Gqeberha, and interactive activities for children. N4 was awarded the 2024 Humanitarian Award by the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation. The award was presented to N4 co-founders Lisa Consiglio and Colum McCann earlier this month at a dinner in Washington D.C. N4 is honored to be one of the 2024 Foley Freedom Award recipients and to support the Foundation's mission.Check out this videofrom the James W. N4 was named as one of the recipients of funding from Rethink Ireland! Rethink Ireland supports initiatives that creatively connect to the community in order to meet its most pressing needs. Rethink Ireland visited the N4 Ireland office as a part of its awardee visits.
N4 HIGHLIGHTS
N4 Senior Director of Programs, Special Initiatives, & Innovation, Lee Keylock, participated in a panel discussion titled: "Challenging Disparities: The Role of SEL in Promoting Educational Equity." at the Urban Assembly SEL Symposium in New York City.
On May 25, we hosted our inaugural session of ‘Honest Conversation’ in Lagos, Nigeria to create a safe and accessible space for storytelling, vulnerability, and connection in the community.
A 3-month-long letter exchange between college students in Mexico and Nigeria concluded with a virtual story exchange. Our other transcontinental letter exchanges between students in Tanzania, Zambia, and the US are still ongoing.
In Monterrey, Mexico, 178 elementary students participated in an object exchange after completing a full year of N4 programming!
N4 Southeast Regional Manager, Jahi Mackey and N4 Executive Director, Kandice Cole facilitated a session titled: “Many Voices, Many Stories: How Story Exchanges Can Strengthen Multicultural Education” at the Texas Chapter of the National Association for Multicultural Education annual conference.
N4 CEO and Co-founder Lisa Consiglio received the Distinguished Alumni Award from The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Georgia.
